Welcome to the Whole Artist Mastery (WAM) Community. We're happy you're here!
If you’ve taken one of the WAM mentorship programs or courses or watched the YouTube Channel, you’re acquainted with Marianne Mitchell and the WAM framework.
If you’re new to Whole Artist Mastery, we're glad you found us!
Either way, we invite you to join us on your path to finding your artistic voice, making compelling art and becoming the artist you’re meant to be - a Whole Artist.
The Whole Artist Mastery Community is intentionally designed to foster individual and collective discovery, growth and confidence using the WAM philosophy as a foundation and springboard.
Here we share our experiences, breakthroughs, ideas and struggles as we continue to uncover our own artistic voice and make compelling work on our path towards becoming whole artists.
Austin Kleon, author of Steal Like An Artist and Show Your Work, writes about the fallacy of the lone genius.
If we look back, we'll discover such geniuses were actually part of communities of people who were "supporting each other, looking at each other's work, copying from each other, stealing ideas and contributing ideas."
He astutely observes, "Creativity is always in some sense a collaboration, the result of a mind connected to other minds."
We created the Whole Artist Mastery Community with this spirit in mind.
Inside you'll find:
Most certainly! We're a multi-generational, global network of new and seasoned artists -- oil painters to collage artists to mixed media artists - learning more about ourselves, our artistic practice and each other. We're here to build relationships and gain and give support on our artistic journey -- which can be full of joy and excitement as well doubt and fear. Art may be a solitary endeavor in many ways, but that doesn't mean you need to go it alone. Having a place to share in the experience of making art and all that entails can be indispensable.
Well, it's like a Facebook group in some ways but different in very important ones. For one, it's not an endless scroll of content. And it doesn't have the baggage that comes with Facebook. It's completely independent, focused and free of algorithms, ads, trolls and other interferences. Further, it's powered by a platform called Mighty Networks designed with creating community in mind.
